SATELLiTE Project Space (est. 2015) is a dynamic partnership between two significant London, Ontario arts institutions: Fanshawe College’s Fine Art Program and Western University’s Department of Visual Arts, School for Advanced Studies in the Arts & Humanities/SASAH and Faculty of Information and Media Studies/FIMS. BealArt and Museum London were also founding community partners.

The mandate of SATELLiTE Project Space is to provide flexible space for educationally-supported projects, collaborations, and experiments in the arts and culture. SATELLiTE provides learning opportunities and mentorship for art students in London: in education, curatorial work, exhibition and event programming, and arts administration. It also invites the larger community to experience and participate in these programs through community partnerships. SATELLiTE is a testing ground for new projects and collaborations, programs, residencies, artworks, and performances.

Western and Fanshawe partner in the planning of yearly programming and student involvement, and in the production of exhibitions. As a result, students and the public are introduced to a multiplicity of approaches to contemporary art and culture, exhibition curatorship and programming.

Please note: While SATELLiTE is no longer located at 121 Dundas Street, we continue to program mobile on-site exhibitions at partner spaces through 2025-2026. Our programming also continues in the form of the publishing outlet, SATELLiTE: In Orbit. Keep up to date with our plans via our website and Instagram.

Thank you to all of the members of the community, artists, students, and faculty that have been involved with Satellite since 2015. The collaboration from all of the partner organizations over the decade has been vital to the growth of emerging artists in our city and provided a unique exploratory space for projects and collaborative study.
