Call for Submissions: To Whom We Yield

Call for Submissions:
Exhibition at Satellite Project Space

Satellite Project Space is inviting artists who can speak on the lived queer experience and the intersection of identities through the submission of artworks for the upcoming exhibition “To Whom We Yield.” The question of queerness is uniquely situated as its definition relies on the social norms or perceived normal of other identities. To queer something is to make different, to change, to explore. How does this queerness, this difference from a perceived reality, manifest in one’s own life, beyond that of just a label? Through your clothes and fashion? Through your interactions with media? Through your behaviours? How does one’s queer identity intersect with other identities, how does privilege – or lack thereof – reveal itself?

Deadline: Sunday, November 5, 2023

Submission Requirements:

  • Up to two pieces of art (any media welcome) per artist may be submitted. (Note: selection of one submission does not guarantee selection of second submission)
  • Artist statement (150-200 words) regarding your submission and how it relates to the theme of queer and intersecting identities
  • Artist biography (150 words)
