Hello babies, Welcome to Earth. Nothing stays new and everything hurts – the least we can do is notice when we’re happy. I think being in love is the next best thing to sleep – I’m not really good at either of those things. I didn’t grow up with God but I did grow up with Dolly Parton and Krampus and I get the feeling that creatures/lore are prayer enough.
Anna Nicole Smith taught me you can grind at your craft and still end up without a paycheque. They say art isn’t about making money but in the world in which we’ve co-signed, I think that it is. When I die, I want to have more to say, so while I’m alive I’m chipping away, building greasy universes for all of you. Lore is real. Characters are everywhere.
There is a guy in downtown London who did a bunch of acid and sculpted a pink, throbbing, church out of acrylic paint and spackling; he builds tiny dioramas and doesn’t care what any of you think
I used to be so angry that the world wasn’t like middle earth or a sci-fi, but I started to understand the blessing living in mess is. People are as lawless as the creatures they’ve created; I want to sit in that gravy with all of you. I use lots of the same colours and plushy found fabrics (because they feel like me).
I am grateful to soothe myself by terraforming realities we can all find rest and community in. These goons are real, to me, because I’ve seen them in my dreams. I can’t wait to introduce you.
