HERE to THERE

Experience movement in space through strategies of systematic repetition in the exhibition Here to There. Charlotte Buenaobra, Amber Lynch, and John Weir have independently engaged in a variety of processes and realizations referencing rhythms of natural and unnatural orders.

Inspired by her childhood in the Philippines and influenced by the technologies in her life, Charlotte Buenaobra explores the process of capturing digitized images, through a shifting and layered approach to reveal densely crowded urban streetscapes, evoking sentimental and spatial memories. In a series of charcoal drawings and animation, Amber Lynch seeks to interpret the rhythmic patterns inspired by birds in flight. By observing the deliberateness of each careful movement, she uncovers their fleeting character and immense presence. John Weir creates several measured graphite lines that combine to create obscure structural spaces. Each asymmetrical geometric form is constructed using a unique systematic method.

These artists come together to produce a show that combines and blends their individual movement languages, dynamic techniques, and processes. Here to There, plays on motion and space experienced through multimedia and systematic repetition.
