Parallels: The Wandering Edge explores symbioses between living parallels and where they might converge. The work of Janet Griffen, Laura Klinard, and Michel Lafontaine demonstrates the powerful presence of line, shape & colour through contrasting forms of abstraction. The combination of seductive colours, geometric planes and bold lines in Griffen’s paintings create architectural environments reimagined. Klinard translates traditional portraiture into organic abstracted forms, revealing the connections within human interaction that are invisible to the naked eye. Lafontaine seeks to balance humankind with the natural world through processes that engage and impose upon manufactured and natural elements. This exhibition captures the virtues of line, shape & colour to elevate the variations of the human threshold.
This exhibition is part of the 2020 spring series of exhibitions by Fanshawe College third-year fine art students.
