Exhibiting Artists: David Knight and Holly Pichette
Gallery Hours: 12 – 5
Reception: Thursday January 26th 6-8 PM
David Knight and Holly Pichette are Fanshawe College Fine Art students in the graduating class of 2017.
Their artistic practices explore socio-political issues in a variety of manners and media. Knight’s adds mock monetary value with coded materials to voice unease around profitability’s domineering position within humanity.
As a First Nations artist, Pichette uses embroidered beadwork inserted within road sign formats to speak on issues of land and water rights.
The exhibition stirs-up conversation about politics and pushing back against the status quo.
Installation view during opening night showing the road sign format of Holly Pichette’s work.
