“Within” is a exhibition featuring third year fine arts students from Fanshawe College, Leena Bourne and Shannon Vandevenne. The exhibition focuses on cognitive dissociation within the neuro-system and its communication through various digital media.

Leena Bourne:

Bourne works with emotions and personal events surrounding her epilepsy diagnosis. Her video installations and projections immerse audiences in new experimental environments. Bourne was a painter exclusively before she transitioned into video and media installation. She has been working with the subject of illness for the entirety of her artistic career.

Shannon Vandevenne:

Vandevenne’s work comments on depression and anxiety relative to stigma and circumstances, and its drastic statistical increase. Vandevenne was inspired by personal experiences as well as by Bell’s “Let’s Talk” campaign. img_8801
