Wow, It’s Happening is an exhibition of drippings, blobs, repetitive marks, and a colourful spectrum. Through the repetition of simple drawn marks expanding over large areas, Lane Derbyshire drawings amplify through repetition. Marks, shapes and forms create visual narratives and abstractions. Sebastian Monroy’s colorful installations employ gravity to determine the elasticity of acrylic paint combined with shaving foam. Camila De La Peña’s hand-drawn and digitally coloured animations explore the human condition through personified marks and imaginative narratives. The balance of drawing and exploration of materials has benefited each artist differently in their exploration of narrative personas.

This exhibition is part of the 2020 spring series of exhibitions by Fanshawe College third-year fine art students.
