Fever Dreams features artworks developed over the investigation of how toys impact our interpretation of the world around us. The collection of works illustrates toys exploring a world that is ultimately coming to an end as if they are trapped in a fever dream. Fever dreams are described as a vivid nightmare that we cannot escape from until awoken. The toys are blissful to the world around them as the landscapes enclose their naive reality. This series demonstrates the beginning of researching the topic of toys in the fine arts as these are the works produced in the beginning stages of the MFA program and will complement the thesis exhibition, Credulous Escapism that will be featured in July at the Artlab Gallery at Western University.
